My Re-Enlistment & Fishing

Yesterday was unlike any other day yet. I had planned out with my ship that when it came time for me to re-enlist, instead of driving into work and doing a normal re-enlistment, I would ride my rigged jet ski from Newport News down the James River into Naval Station Norfolk, moor up to the base marina, and re-enlist right on the spot. Conditions were rough in the morning, small craft advisory conditions with plenty of 3 footers. Was hoping for better conditions but I still made it happen. I departed around 0830.

About half an hour later I made it onto the Naval Station with my co-workers and friends waiting at the pier. They all got a kick out of the idea of jet skiing into work and thought I was nuts for battling the cold weather.

After re-enlisting and eating lunch, I departed with much better conditions. I tried the HRBT for awhile, casting Storm Shads, with no luck. Tried the MMBT as well, same, as well as the JRB. No luck for me today with the fish  but still had an amazing time on the water. Heard the guys over at the JRB did very well in the morning, afternoon didn't seem to produce anything for anyone.

I had someone else take the re-enlistment photos, so I don't have them yet, but here are the rest I took.
