Today I towed my Sea Doo over to Kiptopeke State Park in search of some big rockfish. I know it is a bit early, but I also wanted to go to learn how to drift eels effectively with the jet ski, something I haven't done before so I at least wanted to get the technique down so I'm not all over the place.
The good part is I didn't really run into any issues and it was very simple, but no fish were caught today. Water temp was 54-55 degrees.
I was the only one drifting in the sloughs near the Concrete Ships, it felt as if I didn't get some sort of memo. There were only a few boats over at the High Rise, a place I definitely thought would be a parking lot. Still early but I'm sure the action will heat up as the water continues to cool.
Still had a good time on the water, but can't wait for the big ones to get here!

You can't be the first to catch one over there if you are not one of the first ones there!
ReplyDeleteExactly, figured it was worth a shot.
